Ten’s Big Bash out-rated by ABC’s 7.30 Summer and Nine’s Customs

Big_Bash_League_Logo.svg_Audiences for Ten’s Big Bash have slipped back after peaking on Monday night with an metro audience of 1.06m tuning in for the Super Over with last night’s match gaining an audience of audience of 682,000 metro viewers for session two.

The first innings of the match between the Hobart Hurricanes and the Melbourne Renegades had 552,000 viewers, delivering Ten an audience share of 14.1 per cent.

Session two of the match was the most watched show amongst the 16 -39 demographic but could not compete with Nine’s audiences for day two of the test match between Australia and India which saw 1.017m metro viewers tune in for session three, which claimed the honours of being the most watched non-news show for Wednesday.

Session two was watched by 838,000 and session one had an audience of 716,000. The Cricket Show during the lunch break pulled a crowd of 633,000.

Session one of the Big Bash was out-rated by Nine’s repeat of Customs at 7.30pm, which was watched by 684,000, and the ABC’s 7.30 Summer edition which grabbed an audience of 669,000.

The slip in audience numbers for Ten’s Big Bash helped Seven reclaim the second position in terms of audience share, grabbing a share of 17.5 per cent behind Nine’s share of 18.9 per cent.

Seven’s most watched non-news program was Border Security – Australia’s Front Line which drew a metro audience of 637,000 at 7pm.

On the ABC, which had an audience share of 12.4 per cent, Human Universe with Brian Cox at 8.30pm was watched by 600,000 metro viewers.

In news, Nine won the night with an audience of 1.174m at 6pm . Seven News at 6pm was watched by 892,000.

In the secondary channels, Nine’s GO! led the way with an audience share of 6.3 per cent as 390,000 metro viewers tuned in for an episode of The Big Bang Theory.

7TWO had a share of 5.9 per cent as 238,000 tuned in for coverage of the Brisbane International.
