Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention most watched Monday entertainment show

Ten’s late evening game show, Have You Been Paying Attention, was the most watched entertainment show last night, attracting larger audiences than Ten, Nine and Seven’s 7:30pm offerings.

The program, which locked in an international format deal this year, pulled in a metro audience of 810,000, while nationally it achieved 1.070m. Have You Been Paying Attention also topped the key advertising demographics 16-39s, 18-49s and 25-54s.

In the later time slot, Seven’s God Friended Me captured 460,000 while Nine ran film Casino Royale, with 260,000 metro viewers.

Ten’s earlier offering, The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds, pulled in a metro audience of 519,000. The highest rating program at 7:30pm was Seven’s Bride & Prejudice – The Forbidden Weddings, with 687,000 metro viewers. Nationally, Seven’s audience swelled to 1.014m.

The show out-did both The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds, and Nine’s Family Food Fight, which averaged 433,000 across the five metro cities and 579,000 nationally.

According to OzTAM’s overnight figures, news and current affairs programming were more popular than entertainment on Monday evening. The most watched program of the night was Seven News, with a metro audience of 985,000, beating Nine News’ 914,000. ABC News was the most watched show for the national broadcaster, with 703,000 metro viewers.

Despite Have You Been Paying Attention’s popularity, the channel finished fourth, behind Seven’s 18.8%, Nine’s 16.6% and ABC’s 15.7%. SBS achieved a 4.5% share.

Overall, Seven Network won the night on a 29.1% of audience, beating Nine Network’s 24.3%. ABC Network beat Network Ten, with shares of 19.9% and 19.6% respectively. SBS Network’s share was 7.1%.
