Ten’s I’m A Celebrity tops the ratings while Nine takes first win of the week

Nine won Thursday night television thanks to the absence of My Kitchen Rules, with an audience share of 19.0% despite the success of Ten’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!

Ten’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here!, was the most watched non news program for the evening, pulling an average audience of 773,000 – down from last week’s 823,000, according to OzTAM’s overnight metro ratings.

The reality TV show aired at 7:30pm and was the most watched program across key advertising demographics of 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Nine’s RBT which also aired at 7:30pm attracted 618,000 – up slightly from last week’s 603,000 – while Seven’s back-to-back episodes of Home and Away achieved 645,000.

A Current Affair at 7:00pm saw 708,000 viewers tune in, while ABC News managed 676,000 at the same time.

Australian television drama Newton’s Law premiered last night at 8:30pm on ABC, drawing in 695,000 viewers to top Nine’s Big Bang Theory, which managed 611,000.

In the 6:00pm news battle Seven News won the night as the most watched program, pulling 994,000 to beat Nine News at 877,000. At 6:30pm Seven News achieved 983,000 to Nine News’ 851,000.

In overall audience share, Nine achieved19.0%, Seven 17.8%, Ten 15.9%, ABC 13.2% and SBS 3.9%.
