Ten axes Late News bulletin

Ten has axed its Late News bulletin, with its last broadcast to go to air next Friday.

Ten told Mumbrella that the Late News spot, which fluctuates between 10:30 and 11:30 depending on other programming, will be filled by a combination of general entertainment.

Anchor Sandra Sully will move to the Ten News at Five bulletin with co-host Bill Woods from October 3.

Sports Tonight, which ran with the late bulletin, will be part of the 5pm show and broadcast locally Monday to Friday and nationally on the weekend. At least two Sports Tonight extended branded segments will be included in the 90-minute daily bulletins.

Sponsor Toyota has renewed its sponsorship of the sports segments.

Earlier this week Ten announced its weekend news line-up will be headed up by Natarsha Belling and Matt Doran.
