Ten’s new drama Playing For Keeps debuts with 583,000 viewers
Ten’s newest drama series Playing For Keeps has premiered with 583,000 metro viewers.
The new drama, which dives into the life of Aussie Rules Football players’ wives and girlfriends, debuted at 8.45pm and went head to head with the season nine premiere of ABC’s Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell.
According to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings, Playing For Keeps was beaten in its time slot by Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell, which attracted 684,000 metro viewers.
Meanwhile, Nine’s The Block was again the most watched non-news program for the evening with 881,000 metro viewers.
Ten’s The Bachelor went up against The Block but failed to top it as 854,000 metro viewers tuned in.
However, The Bachelor was the most watched program across key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.
Seven News/Today Tonight was the most popular program overall with 961,000 metro viewers, beating Nine News at 6.30 which managed an audience of 897,000.
At 6pm, Seven News obtained 956,000 viewers compared to Nine News’ 926,000.
Nine won Wednesday night TV with an overall audience share of 20% beating out rivals Seven which saw an 18% share, Ten’s 16.3% share, ABC’s 12.2% and SBS’ 3.9% share.
