Ten’s share falls to 8.6% with only two shows in top 20

Wednesday night television has seen Ten’s overall audience share slump to 8.6%, with the network  only managing two programs in the top 20 most-watched shows.

The two programs which made the top 20 for Ten were The Project, which averaged 487,000 metro viewers at number 16, and Ten Eyewitness News which grabbed 461,000 at number 17.

Ten’s The Biggest Loser: Transformed remained out of the top 20 programs, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

Seven managed to win the night with an audience share of 28.2% as My Kitchen Rules took out the top spot as most-watched program for the evening, pulling 1.436m viewers at 7.30pm.

MKR was also the most-watched program across key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Seven’s Wednesday night televison success was bolstered with Seven News grabbing 1.047m, Home and Away pulling 701,000 and Million Dollar Cold Case with 670,000.

The network’s breakfast show Sunrise also managed to scrape into the top 20 seeing 336,000 metro viewers tune in.

Nine came in second with a share of 17.4% as David Attenborough’s Planet Earth managed 586,000 metro viewers – and was the most popular non-news program for the channel.

Nine News at 6pm was the most-watched program for the channel pulling in 909,000 metro viewers ahead of A Current Affair with 755,000 and Hot Seat’s 433,000.

ABC managed to grab third spot in overall audience share with 11% as ABC News led for the channel with a metro audience of 763,000. ABC’s 7.30 saw 580,000 tune in ahead of The Weekly with Charlie Pickering which pulled in 511,000 metro viewers.
