Ten’s share falls below 7% for Sunday night as Nine and Seven dominate

Channel Ten failed to reach an average audience of more than 7% on Sunday night, with no shows in the top 10 or the key advertising demographics – 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

With a 6.8% share, it was only 2.5 percentage points ahead of SBS, which finished on a share of 4.3%.

The station’s most watched program of the evening was The Sunday Project’s 7pm edition, with 299,000 metro viewers.

The Sunday Project’s at 6:30pm managed 272,000 metro viewers.

According to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary ratings, the show’s biggest numbers came from Sydney and Melbourne.

Ten’s The Supercars Championship attracted its largest audience for Sunday, with day two race two attracting 380,000 metro viewers.

Melbourne and Brisbane both averaged more than 100,000 viewers for the day.

Meanwhile commercial rival Nine finished the night with a 28.2% share while Seven concluded Sunday evening with a 19.1% share.

ABC placed third at 15.9%.

As teams put the final touches on their respective properties last night, Nine’s The Block climbed to 1.507m metro viewers.

It topped the key advertising demographics and beat shows Seven’s Sunday Night’s 591,00 metro viewers and Ten’s Bull which had 221,000 metro viewers in the 7:30pm slot.

The closest competitor to Nine’s The Block this Sunday was ABC’s Doc Martin, which had 940,000 metro viewers at 7:30pm.

ABC won the later time slot with 944,000 metro viewers tuning in to The Doctor Blake Mysteries.

Nine’s 60 Minutes, which ran at the same time, pulled in 865,000 metro viewers while Seven’s movie Star Wars: Attack of the Clones averaged a metro audience of 393,000.

Sunday’s 6pm news battle was won by Nine this week, with 1.039m metro viewers over Seven News Sunday’s 976,000 metro viewers.
