Ten’s Tuesday trio of top TV shows

It was a rare hat-trick for Ten on Tuesday night, with the network scoring the three most watched shows of the day, while Nine’s double dose of Home Made was every bit as disastrous as expected.

Ten easily won the night with a 32% share of the audience, according to preliminary TV ratings figures from OzTam. Seven had 26.7% and Nine was well back on 21.4%. The ABC was on 15.6% and SBS had 4.4%. In Sydney, Nine’s share fell below 20%.

Nine’s only shows in the top ten were A Current Affair and Nine News. Both episodes of Home Made averaged just over 800,000 viewers.

So far this week, Ten has an audience of 28.4%, ahead of Seven’s 26.7%

Tonight’s ratings should see a much stronger showing for Nine, with Game 2 of State of Origin. This evening also marks the return of The Chaser’s War on Everything, following its suspension from the ABC’s schedules for the dying kids sketch.

The timing of the return is a complicated one for The Chaser. While most eyes are on the rugby, it means that the programme has a chance to slip back into its groove. But there will be inevitably be comparisons between tonight’s presumably lower rating for The Chaser and previous weeks.
