SafetyCulture renews sponsorship of Australian tennis star for a third year, supporting with funding for mindset coach and other expert help

23 June 2022 – Global workplace operations platform, SafetyCulture, has extended its sponsorship agreement with Australian tennis star, Thanasi Kokkinakis for a third year.

As part of the latest sponsorship agreement, SafetyCulture will continue to have a logo presence on Thanasi’s kit and will also assist Kokkinakis to build out his coaching team with the addition of an expert mindset coach and the continued support of a strength and conditioning specialist.

SafetyCulture first teamed up with Kokkinakis in February 2021, supporting his Australian Open campaign after he received widespread attention for playing in unsponsored plain t-shirts.

Darren Winterford, CEO of EdApp, the training arm of SafetyCulture said, “We genuinely believe in the power of teamwork. We’re all about helping our customers to continuously improve and inspiring them to get better every single day. Thanasi is a great example of this mentality – he’s an elite athlete at the top of his game and he’s only going to get better with some extra support around him.”

“We’re proud to continue our relationship and excited to help Thanasi expand his team. I’m particularly excited to work with him in the workplace training space as there are so many opportunities for us to apply a business lens to his expertise and share it with customers.”

The sponsorship agreement has been renewed ahead of Kokkinakis’ planned appearance at Wimbledon next week where he is scheduled to appear in the singles draw, as well as play alongside teammate Nick Kygrios in the doubles.

Kokkinakis said, “I’m really grateful for the continued support from the team at SafetyCulture and looking forward to seeing what I can achieve with a wider team helping me to be at my best.”

“I’ve been pretty open about my mental health in the past and I’ve had a fair few brushes with physical injuries too. Having the opportunity to work with experts who help me work on both of these areas is a game-changer.”

SafetyCulture also has a partnership with Tennis Australia and sponsors the Australian Open, with its flagship products, iAuditor and EdApp helping with everything from training ball kids to ensuring the courts are in perfect condition for play.
