The Amazing three-way ratings race
Monday night’s competitive three-way battle between Ten’s Masterchef, Nine’s new British airport comedy Come Fly With Me and Seven’s blockbuster reality contest The Amazing Race gave all three networks something to boast about.
Masterchef won the night with 1.571m viewers according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam, although the rest of the Ten schedule failed to match it.
Come Fly With Me’s 1.488m was one of Nine’s best performing shows of the year, which was all the more impressive considering the competition it had and the failure of other Nine comedies to find an audience.
And The Amazing Race averaged 1.258m for Seven, but ran for most of the evening and was strong in the key advertising demographics.

I doubt 7 will be happy with the Race debut at all.
they were expecting a launch upwards of 1.6million, Its certainly what Reps were touting aout and about.
To fall below 1.3 is not great. The show finished at about 10.10pm. So just over 1.5hours.

Gut feel for the A Race isn’t good …. Come Fly with me is very good, but could become boring quickly (same old same old). Masterchef is OK .. just nothing new.

I watched Come Fly With Me… within 5mins I got very, very bored. I really wanted to like it but struggled. Anyone else feels the same?

I liked Come Fly With Me mainly based on the detail and depth of the character acting. It was all same-same comedy wise, but those two can carry off a stereotype! The two Japanese school girls I though particularly humor-offensive (in a good way offensive, as it’s meant as comedy).

I hear you mish. I got bored with the last season of Little Britain when they kept regurgitating (pun intended) the same jokes every week. It just wasn’t funny and lacked the cleverness of great British comedy. Desperately wanted to like Come Fly With Me, but was playing Word games on the iPhone 10 minutes in.

Come Fly with me wasnt funny at all. I had high expectations but i just had no “Laugh Out Loud” moments for me… Amazing Race was pretty funny, Loving the Mo’s and the Big W ladies! =)

I also had high hopes for Come Fly With Me, but switched over to Offspring as soon as it started.

First episode of Amazing Race was pretty good…Contestants with different backgroud, different part and with different competitive edge…Grant Bowler was also good…Best were Big W ladies 🙂

Amazing Race was just too long. They would have done better not to start it on the Tuesday

Offspring was excellent!!!!!

The amazing race was ok, but really nothing new. The American one has been on for years and to make an Australian one that is very similar doesn’t really add anything.

Come fly with me was not shown on WIN in Canberra and other country areas; instead we had a repeat of a Big Bang episode. This was a decision made by CH 9 but I would have liked to make my own choice to watch or not to watch.
