The Ambient Group re-appoints Jonathon Kouvelis

Out of home media company The Ambient Group has re-appointed Jonathon Kouvelis. Kouvelis returns to the team as Melbourne-based head of sales. Kouvelis spent a short time at APN Outdoor.

The announcement:

The Ambient Group, Australia’s largest out-of-home urban media provider, has bolstered its ranks with the re-appointment of Melbourne based Head of Sales Jonathon Kouvelis. Jonathon returns to Ambient after a short stint working with APN Outdoor.

For over a decade the company has pioneered the non-traditional media channels in Australia and New Zealand. Over the past 12 months, Ambient has expanded their interests across their three core offerings, Ambient Advertising, Ambient Experiential and Ambient Talent.

One such success is the enormously popular refurbishment and repackaged street poster platform, which allows brands to utilise the traditional urban format like a mainstream billboard.

Mark Fishwick, Managing Director of Ambient said the return of Jonathon was a win for the group.

“It’s great to welcome Jonathon back to head the sales team,” Fishwick said.

“He started with us in 2007 and after 5 years moved over to APNO to try and develop his skills with a much larger and market leading out of home company. This was the path he chose and we respected that.

Jonathon comes back to us at an exciting time. “The 2013 calendar is expected to be a thrilling ride and we hope to deliver some of the best and notable ambient campaigns this year,” he added.

Jonathon says this type of media is really going to boom in the next few years. “I am very eager to get back to Ambient as I believe this channel is really about to fire,” he stated.

“I believe further fragmentation of traditional mainstream media is allowing these types of formats to flourish. Brands are looking for new ways to engage andinspire their consumers.

APNO was a fantastic experience for me and I enjoyed my time with them, however the opportunity to be more involved with the strategic planning and the whole campaign management was too attractive to turn down,” he concluded.
