The annual blooper reel
What were the most laughable balls-ups in TV news reporting in Australia and New Zealand in 2012?
There were so many, it’s hard to choose.
But happily, Kiwi site Dan News has knitted them all together in one reel.
Eagle-eyed viewers may notice a cameo from PR agency Liquid Ideas’ boss Stuart Gregor
Bloopers are very rarely funny to anyone other than those on-camera personnel directly embarrassed by them. People in television have to accept that they really are human and get tongue-tied. The rest of us don’t care. Their mistakes are an in-joke and easy to dismiss. It might be better to restrict them to lurching stragglers at the network christmas party.

David, it’s that bloopers show people as human that makes them funny… bloopers from any form of media always raise a smile (news, TV, movies, radio etc). And I speak as someone who is responsible for a fair few bloopers over the years in media… no body’s perfect.

Agree totally with David on this. Never seen a blooper reel yet that was worth watching. Oh except of course for the infamous Naomi Robson Xmas Tape (Google it if you haven’t seen it)

I’m glad I don’t watch NZ television news etc.the breakfast shows and so-called current affairs programs on Oz TV are bad enough.

Au contraire.
I reckon it’s hilarious watching other people piss themselves in embarrassing situations!
Only thing in this video that isn’t funny is Natalie Barr and, outside of this video, anything else Sunrise related.

Wow great reminder of how bad the media in NZ is!
Hillary Barry (the older woman with short spikey blond hair) is a disgrace.
The best clip is at 10:55 with the interview of the rugby boys – that’s what happens when you get a sport star to suddenly take up journalism!
