The Australian’s marketing writer Lara Sinclair joins marketing tech firm as content head

Lara SinclairThe Australian has lost its marketing writer Lara Sinclair, who has moved to marketing technology start up Simple.

“My job will include launching a blog targeting marketers,” she told Mumbrella. “I reported on the first dot com boom when I was at B&T, before I even joined The Australian.

“This time, with the content marketing and marketing technology sectors both growing exponentially, and with the mainstream media industry also under pressure, I decided if an opportunity to join the next technology boom arose, I’d give it a shot.”

The departure leaves the once eight reporter strong Media section with just three staff writers, while Sinclair will take the role of head of content for the Brisbane based company.

Sinclair has previously written for The Canberra Times and edited media and marketing title B&T, where she won a Bell Award for business reporting.
