The Avengers star Chris Hemsworth fronts Foxtel rebrand campaign
Aussie Hollywood star Chris Hemsworth is fronting an ad campaign for the new-look Foxtel.
The campaign sees The Avengers star walk through a mixture of Foxtel content, ending with the slogan, ‘The place where Foxtel lives’.
Heavy TV activity is supported by press, cinema, digital, outdoor, augmented reality and social.
Foxtel director of marketing, Chantal Walker said: “By using a TV roadblock it means no matter what you’re watching on Sunday, you’ll be able to see Chris starring in our new blockbuster brand TVC.”
“In this campaign we are inviting both customers and non-subscribers to sample our quality content and see what they’re missing out on. To assist in this we’re using every digital touch point as a product sampling opportunity including rich media, pre-roll videos and a highly interactive microsite.”
The TV work was created by Clemenger BBDO and directed by Joel Pront from Collider.
The campaign follows the merger of pay TV giants Foxtel and Austar.

“Hi Chantal and Claudine, this idea features Chris Hemsworth…”
Shortest pitch in advertising history, I’d imagine.

I don’t mind the ad. Chris Hemsworth looks fairly natural in it. I can’t say how I will feel after another 50 views though.
