The Bachelorette finale draws 972,000 to watch Georgia declare her love for Lee

Last night’s finale of Ten’s The Bachelorette, which saw Georgia Love choose plumber Lee Elliott, pulled an audience of 972,000 to the final decision. But the finale could not beat last year’s finale audience, with of 1.52m tuning in to see Sam Frost’s final choice.


The 972,000 figure was recorded for the final moments of the show when Lee was declared the winner, just after 9:00pm.

The remainder of the show, which kicked off at 7:30pm, was watched by 790,000, well ahead of the season premiere.

The program was the most watch non-news program for Thursday, with the final decision and entire episode both securing the top two spots across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49, 25-54).

Also in the 7:30pm time slot, Nine’s the Big Bang Theory pulled an audience of 738,000 which was up from last week’s episode which drew an audience of 694,000 viewers.

The Big Bang Theory repeat, which aired at 8:00pm had an audience of 702,000.

This was well ahead of the ABC’s Silvia’s Italian Table, which grabbed an audience of 455,000.

On Seven, Home and Away’s one-and-a-half hour episode, which saw Hope return from jail, grabbed an audience of 692,000.

In news, Seven was well ahead of Nine with 927,000 viewers tuning in at 6:00pm and 910,000 at 6:30pm. Nine pulled in an audience of 869,000 at 6:00pm and 851,000 at 6:30pm.

Later in the evening, Seven’s Highway Patrol attracted an audience of 567,000 viewers, up from last week’s 479,000 viewers.

The program won the time slot, with 488,000 tuning in to Nine’s Better Late than Never.

In the shares, Seven won the night at 18.1% with Ten at second on 17.1%, ahead of Nine at 16.9% and SBS at 4.3%.
