The Black Dog Institute engages We Are Different to complete its PR
PR agency We Are Different has partnered with mental health organisation The Black Dog Institute to execute its public relations.
The news comes after the agency was launched in June by former Fleishman Hillard head of consumer, Stuart Terry.
We Are Different will be supporting The Black Dog Institute’s consumer-facing PR to raise awareness of mental health issues in Australia, and will profile the organisation’s research-based programs and online mental health tools.
Fiona Treweeke, The Black Dog Institute head of marketing and communications, said in a statement: “Different impressed us with their smart thinking, creative approach and willingness to go above and beyond to make a real difference for our organisation.
“One in five Australians experience mental illness in any year, yet over half do not access any treatment. Our PR partnership will help raise awareness and consideration of Black Dog, helping us achieve our mission of a mentally healthier Australia.”
Terry commented on the progress of the agency: “The agency is already experiencing exciting growth due to interest from local and global brands. But as we grow, we want to ensure both the work we do for clients and the way we hire and retain staff is different.”
“Our partnership with The Black Dog Institute cements our commitment to a mentally healthier world and mentally healthier workplace,” Terry added. “We couldn’t be more excited by the opportunity to drive real impact for such a well-known and worthy brand.”

Black dog are fantastic based on personal experience. Their communications are simple self explanatory and that’s not easy in the mental health world. Hope to see some good work around the traps.
