The Block hammers in another win for Nine

Nine’s The Block topped entertainment on Wednesday, while the network also celebrated an overall network share win.

The program aired to 726,000 metro viewers, also winning all three key advertising demos. The launch this year aired to an average metro audience of 867,000. Last year, Nine aired the 2021 premiere of the program to 747,000 metro viewers.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for Wednesday 12 October, The Block was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.437 million viewers, including 247,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 36%, and had the biggest uplift for the week.

Looking back at Wednesday’s overnights, Hard Quiz on Nine was next, which aired to an average metro audience of 528,000, followed by Home and Away, which aired to an average of 457,000.

The Chase Australia on Seven was next with an average metro audience of 400,000

Next up was an episode of Question Everything on ABC which had an average metro audience of 381,000, followed by Kitchen Nightmares Australia on Seven, which brought in 362,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven News won overall TV viewing on Wednesday night with 803,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 801,000 metro viewers, while Nine News at 6:30 had 702,000 metro viewers. Nine News at 6:30 brought in 751,000, A Current Affair pulled in 652,000 metro views, and ABC News pulled in 595,000 viewers.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 31.5% over Seven’s 25.8%, while the ABC had a share of 19.4%, and Ten had a share of 15.4%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Wednesday was 7TWO with a share of 4.1%.
