The Block is only non-news show to beat 1m, MasterChef droops to 0.94m

Hot Property: 0.977m

The Block: 1.215m

Just a single non-news or current affairs show got passed the million-mark in another dreary set of Thursday TV ratings, with Nine’s The Block notching up 1.215m.

The renovation show won in key advertising demographics 25-54, 16-39 and 18-49, followed by Ten’s MasterChef which was well below the psychologically important million-mark with 943,000 – down 50,000 viewers on last Thursday.

The next highest-rating non-news show in total viewers followed The Block in the 8pm time slot on Nine – a new episode of Hot Property, hosted by Michael Caton, pulled in 977,000.

Seven News was the most watched show of the night, followed by Nine News and A Current Affair.

Seven’s breakfast show Sunrise completed a four-day unbeaten run against Today on Nine, with 370,000 compared to 359,000.
