The Block stays on top and helps Nine win overall network share
Nine’s The Block topped entertainment on Monday, while the network also celebrated an overall network share win.
The program aired to 719,000 metro viewers, also winning all three key advertising demos. The 2022 launch aired to an average metro audience of 867,000. Last year, Nine aired the 2021 premiere of the program to 747,000 metro viewers.
In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 5 September, Monday’s episode of Seven News at 6:30 was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.528 million viewers, including 43,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 3%. 9-1-1 Lonestar on Seven had the biggest uplift of 44% and was viewed by a total audience of 452,000.
Looking back at Monday’s overnights, next in entertainment was Have You Been Paying Attention on Ten, which aired to an average metro audience of 544,000, followed by Australia Story on ABC, which aired to an average of 543,000. The Chase Australia on Seven aired to 508,000 metro viewers.
Farmer Wants a Wife on Seven brought in 492,000 metro viewers, followed by an episode of Hot Seat on Nine which saw a metro audience of 393,000 viewers tune in.
Meanwhile, Seven News at 6:30 was the #1 metro program on Monday with 976,000 metro viewers followed by Seven News with 944,000 metro viewers. Nine News at 6:30 aired to 846,000, and Nine News brought in 820,000. Next was A Current Affair which pulled in 650,000 viewers, while ABC News brought in 610,000.
As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 28.8% over Seven’s 27.7%, while Ten had a share of 18.3%, followed by ABC on 17.9%.
Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Monday was 7TWO with a share of 3.6%.
