The Block tackles all competition in a win for Nine

Nine’s The Block topped entertainment on Wednesday, while the network also celebrated an overall network share win.

The program aired to 750,000 metro viewers, also winning all three key advertising demos. The 2022 launch aired to an average metro audience of 867,000. Last year, Nine aired the 2021 premiere of the program to 747,000 metro viewers.


Next in entertainment was an episode of Hard Quiz on Nine, which aired to an average metro audience of 549,000, followed by Home and Away on Seven, which aired to an average of 493,000.

The Chase Australia on Seven brought in 477,000 metro viewers, followed by a late viewing of the program which aired to 407,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven News was the #1 metro program on Wednesday with 887,000 metro viewers followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 881,000 metro viewers. Nine News at 6:30 aired to 785,000, and Nine News brought in 784,000. Next was A Current Affair which pulled in 635,000 viewers, while ABC News brought in 565,000.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 31.9% over Seven’s 24.8%, while ABC had a share of 18.2%, followed by Ten on 15.3%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Wednesday was 7TWO with a share of 4%.
