The Chase retains entertainment crown; Nine takes Tuesday

The Chase Australia on Seven topped entertainment for a second time this week, however, it was Nine that celebrated an overall network share win.

The program aired to a metro audience of 409,000, however, it was Seven News at 6:30 that won key advertising demos, 16-39, and Seven News that topped demos, 18-49s, and 25-54s.


In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for Tuesday 29 November, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.379 million viewers, including 34,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 3%. The biggest uplift of the week was an episode of Love Island Australia on Nine with an uplift of 515%, viewed by a total audience of 375,000, and a BVOD audience of 275,000.

Looking back at Tuesday’s overnights, A repeat episode of Travel Guides aired to an average metro audience of 402,000, followed by Border Security: The Front Line on Seven pulling in a metro audience of 376,000.

Seven’s Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly aired to an average of 327,000, while an episode of Stuff the British Stole on ABC aired to 326,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven News won overall TV viewing on Tuesday night with 791,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 769,000 metro viewers, while Nine News at 6:30 had 679,000 metro viewers. Nine News brought in 644,000, ABC News had a metro audience of 536,000, and A Current Affair pulled in 522,000 metro views.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 29% over Seven’s 25.7%, while the ABC had a share of 18.6%, and Ten had a share of 15.5%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Tuesday was 9Gem with a share of 3.5%
