The Chase tops entertainment, while Nine and Seven tie on overall network share

The Chase Australia secured an entertainment win for Seven on Tuesday night’s TV programming, however, it was Nine and Seven that celebrated an overall network share win.

The Chase aired to 417,000 metro viewers, followed by a repeat episode of Hot Seat on Nine drawing in 331,000 viewers. Seven News at 6:30 won all three key advertising demos.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for Tuesday 6 December, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.251 million viewers, including 31,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 3%. The biggest uplift of the week was an episode of Love Island Australia on Nine with an uplift of 581%.

Seven’s Cricket: Big Bash – Sydney vs Melbourne match aired to a metro audience of 273,000.

Next in entertainment was Seven’s The Chase 5PM with a 268,000 metro audience, followed by a repeat of Ambulance Australia on Ten also with 225,000 viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven News was the #1 program for Tuesday night, bringing in 806,000 metro viewers, followed by Seven News at 6.30 with 750,000 metro viewers. Nine News had 698,000 metro viewers, with Nine News at 6:30 on 684,000 metro viewers. Nine’s A Current Affair had 592,000 and ABC News had 557,000 metro viewers.

As mentioned, Nine and Seven tied on an overall share, finishing at 27.6%, while the ABC had a share of 18% and Ten finished with a share of 16%.

It was Seven, however, that won the primary channel share with 19.6%, and the top-rating multi-channel on Tuesday was 9Gem with a share of 4.8%.
