‘The Conversation’ site targets researchers
A website targeted at researchers and academics has launched called The Conversation.

The Conversation has launched. The site will be a new source of information, analysis, commentary and research news from leading researchers and academics.
The Conversation is a not-for-profit news and information service, unlocking knowledge and expertise from Australia’s leading academic institutions and delivering it straight to the
public.The Conversation aims to meet a growing interest for informed dialogue and debate on the complex issues that face our every day life. Making sense of the big issues. The Conversation provides an authenticated source of commentary and opinion from thought leaders in the academic and research community.
A team of 12 professional editors at The Conversation work with experts to deliver quality, diverse and accessible content for a broad audience. The team is divided into five sections: Business & Economy, Environment & Energy, Health & Medicine, Science & Technology, and Society & Politics
The Founding Partners providing critical start-up funding are ANU, CSIRO, Monash University, The University of Melbourne, University of Technology Sydney, and The University of Western Australia. In addition The Conversation has content partnerships with the other Group of Eight research-intensive universities (The University of Adelaide, The University of NSW, The University of Sydney, and The University of Queensland).Strategic partners include Australian Associated Press, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Ernst & Young, along with the Commonwealth Government’s
Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, and the Victorian Department of Business and Innovation.The Conversation is founded by Andrew Jaspan and Jack Rejtman. Andrew edited The Observer, The Scotsman, Sunday Herald in the UK and is the former Editor-in-Chief of The Age. Jack is a digital strategist who has led major projects in the US, UK and Asia, including running the US 2008 election website for Yahoo! News.
The Technical Director is Michael Morris and Managing Editor is Misha Ketchell.
