Instagram native news site, The Daily Aus, has launched a daily news podcast with Acast.

The announcement:

Australia’s leading Instagram-native news site, The Daily Aus, today announces the launch of a new daily news podcast with the world’s biggest podcast company, Acast.

With over 80,000 followers, The Daily Aus has reached cult status among Instagram’s engaged Gen Z and Millennial audience, providing accessible news in a format that young Aussies love.

The site’s foray into podcasting represents the next phase in The Daily Aus’ journey of becoming the go-to alternative news platform for Australia’s young people. It’s currently the only Australian daily news podcast that specifically targets a young Gen Z and Millennial cohort.

Zara Seidler, Co-Founder of The Daily Aus, said: “News consumption in Australia is skyrocketing, yet young people often feel alienated or disenfranchised by the mainstream media. The Daily Aus provides an alternative by delivering news that young people want in a format that’s most convenient for them. Podcasting is a natural extension and presents a huge opportunity to grow our audience even further.”

Guy Scott-Wilson, Content Director for Australia and New Zealand at Acast, said: “Acast is fast becoming the home of independent news podcasting in Australia. We are seeing incredible reach and engagement in this category – a true testament not only to the audience appetite, but to the quality of news podcasting creators here in Australia. We’re excited to welcome The Daily Aus to the Acast family and look forward to further helping grow this incredibly important news podcast that speaks directly to Australian young people.”

Episodes of The Daily Aus are available on Acast, Apple Podcasts or wherever you choose to listen to your podcasts.
