The Feds signs new director Craig Rasmus

Sydney production house The Feds has added Craig Rasmus to its roster of directors.

Rasmus makes the step up from working primarily as a director’s assistant.

His background is in TV and film editing, having worked on commercials such as Panadeine and PK Chewing Gum.

Previous work has included spots for Coopers Clear, Ksubi and – most recently – Everlast.

On his directing style, Rasmus commented: “I tend to favour work that uses strong narratives with natural lighting and an observational approach. I have a strong interest in the youth lifestyle genre plus I like witty comedy that has been played straight and given a natural photographic approach.”

Michael Cook, the company’s co-owner and executive producer, said: “The minute I met Craig and screened his reel, I knew I wanted him to join The Feds. His work has a confident and fresh feel to it and I thought he was a perfect fit to our company”.

Rasmus began his career as a child actor in commercials for brands such as Watties and Yoplait. He also appeared as an extra on Home & Away and in feature films A Little Bit of Soul (Directed by Peter Duncan, 1998) and Thank God He Met Lizzie (Directed by Cherie Nowlan, 1997).
