The many faces of Karl Stefanovic
Dr Mumbo was bemused when it was suggested perhaps he should use a professional headshot of Karl Stefanovic when breaking the news of his imminent departure from Nine’s the Today Show, instead of the far-more-amusing image which accompanied the story.
So he did a quick audit of Australia’s media outlets – including the many media properties owned by Nine itself – to see if any others had complied with this suggestion. Dr Mumbo discovered that no, they did not, so here’s the best of the bunch.
While Dr Mumbo’s colleagues at Mumbrella found this in their media library, and thought it mildly amusing:
Nine-owned Pedestrian certainly defeated Mumbrella in the battle for funniest screenshot:
Nine-owned The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age went for a slightly less dramatic grab – but still far from the sought-after professionally-styled headshot:
No surprises that Nine’s rival News Corp didn’t try to find a flattering shot:
But then again, neither did the very-much-owned-by-Nine Nine.com.au:
Rival Ten Daily didn’t really bother trying to get a good screenshot either. Any one will do:
While news.com.au went for a look of anger:
The Daily Mail went fairly easy in its homepage photos, but couldn’t resist ‘Karl Stefan-OVER!’ as a headline:
Indeed the only outlet Dr Mumbo has found thus far to be PR friendly is Yahoo:
Well done, Yahoo!
Despite valiant efforts all around, Dr Mumbo is a little disappointed nobody went with this one:
And just in case you’re shouting “NOBODY CARES, DR MUMBO” and/ or “GIVE US THE REAL HEADSHOTS”, here they are, just as Nine would have wanted them:
You’re welcome:
Might wanna look that up.
