The Matildas keep scoring for Ten

The Matildas continue to draw audiences for Ten, but their 3-0 victory over Chinese Taipei in last night’s Olympic Games qualify wasn’t quite enough to topple Seven for the Wednesday night win.

Seven won the night with 26% audience share across the five metros areas, with its 6pm news, and The Chase (458,000) proving too strong.

Both Ten and Nine scored 24.1% of the market share: A Current Affair (621,000), and the news did the heavy lifting for Nine, while the aforementioned Matildas match (456,000) and The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition pulled the viewers for Ten.

The Matildas managed to dominate the key demos: under 50s, 25 to 54s, and 16 to 39s, and won its timeslot with a commanding 41.7% share.

ABC managed 18.2% of the audience, led by the news, Hard Quiz, and 7:30.
