The NRL starts a #BetterStateDebate drawing on NSW and Queensland rivalry

The NRL has launched a new campaign, #BetterStateDebate, which draws on the rivalry between New South Wales and Queensland.

The campaign, created by We Are Social, features influencers Michael Beveridge and Neel Kolhatkar who debate which state is better.

In a social video series, Beveridge and Kolhatkar play office co-workers supporting the rivalry between their states.

Another video asks Victorians to pick a team as Beveridge and Kolhatkar discuss why each team is better than the other.

Suzie Shaw, We Are Social managing director, said: “State of Origin is a key fixture in the sporting calendar but has more recently been a bit of a one-sided series, so we wanted to really help fuel the conversation around this great sporting rivalry to really get people engaged in this year’s series. Everyone has a bit of state pride in them.”
