The Readership Works calls for expressions of interest for EMMA tender
The Readership Works has opened the call for expressions of interest for the tender of its readership metric EMMA.
Ipsos and Nielsen are currently in the middle of a five-year contract for the Enhanced Media Metrics Australia which will end 2023.
The Readership Works (TRW) is a joint initiative of News Corp Australia, Nine and Seven West Media and is the organisation responsible for EMMA. The measurement was developed in 2010 and is now controlled by TRW alongside a number of industry partners and independent experts.
Ipsos currently provides the print measurement services which are combined with Nielsen’s digital audience data. Nielsen first came on board in 2018, while Ipsos was already working with TRW prior to that date.
EMMA was launched as an alternative metric to Roy Morgan. Following its launch, all major magazine publishers withdrew their print circulations from the Audited Media Association of Australia (AMAA).
The current tender process will be open for local and global applicants.
General manager of The Readership Works Mal Dale said the changing face of news requires EMMA to partner with a forward-thinking organisation.
“EMMA will soon have been in market for 10 years. Conducting a review of potential suppliers and determining the best methodologies and technologies available for the industry is good governance.
“The dynamism of the news media industry requires that we partner with the very best research companies to evolve EMMA and provide industry stakeholders with the optimum audience measurement solution,” said Dale.
Interested parties can obtain details from admin@thereadershipworks.com.au. The closing date for expressions of interest is August 21.
