The Red Republic makes three promotions following a year of growth

Hero Group PR agency, The Red Republic has announced several internal promotions, as it looks to consolidate on new clients and capabilities.

Louise Cargo has been promoted to head of PR, Elly Scales has been promoted to head of social and Simona Varga to account director.

Louise Cargo

In the past year, The Red Republic has partnered with AMP Capital’s Quay Quarter precinct, Amaysim, Urbex and LKSD after bolstering the agency’s offering in April 2020.

Following his acquisition of McCann Worldgroup Australia last year, Ben Lilley, founder of Hero Group, purchased creative agency Red Engine SCC and merged its assets into The Red Republic.

On the three promotions, Lilley said: “Louise, Elly and Simona have all played an integral part in where The Red Republic is today. The Red Republic is a perfect complement to Hero’s offering and we truly provide a fully integrated agency model. We’re excited to leverage The Red Republic’s offering further through HERO’s range of clients.”

Elly Scales

Cargo’s promotion to head of PR comes less than a year after joining the agency in October, hired as senior business director. Cargo has 15 years industry experience, across markets in Ireland, New Zealand and Australia, with clients including Panasonic, PlayStation, ANZ and Johnson & Johnson.

Scales’ promotion to head of social also comes soon after joining The Red Republic in January this year as a social media specialist. Scales will lead the agency’s social offering, having previously worked with brands including Samsung Mobile, United Nations Association of Australia, Tourism Fiji, New Caledonia Tourism and Western Sydney University.

As part of her promotion to account director, Varga will also lead The Red Republic’s Brisbane office. Varga’s five years of industry experience has seen her work with brands including Urbex, Suncorp Group and the Brisbane Racing club.

Simona Varga

Following the acquisition of Red Engine SCC last year, The Red Republic has a new positioning, ‘Future Ready’ providing “a fully integrated solution that helps to build brand equity while also closing the loop on driving results – by effectively building presence in both earned and owned media”, according to a statement from the agency.
