The Road – season passes
Do you want to see John Hillcoat’s adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s novel The Road? Courtesy of Icon, we have season passes.
In The Road, a man (Viggo Mortensen) and his son (Kodi Smit-McPhee) struggle to survive in a dying world as they travel towards the US east coast. The nature of this apocalypse is never revealed, but starvation, violence and fear are the same regardless of the origin.
The film is based on McCarthy’s 2006 Pulitzer-winning novel, and captures both the power of a father’s love and his desperation, being unable to protect his son from the only predator left on Earth: man.
The desolate American locations are hauntingly captured by DOP Javier Aguirresarobe, and enhanced with music from Nick Cave.
The Road will be released on January 28.
