The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation launches annual QR artwork campaign

The Royal Hospital for Women Foundation has launched its annual Heart for Her Appeal with a unique interactive QR artwork campaign to shine a light on the extraordinary care The Royal offers women throughout every phase of their lives.

The QR code art series will be displayed on easels and walls at venues around Sydney’s CBD including One Farrer Place, 25 Martin Place, 1 Bligh Street, and 5 Martin Place.

“We’re very grateful to be partnering with Dexus to unveil and launch this unique art series on 1 June,” said the Foundation’s general manager, Elise Jennings.

“QR codes became a familiar part of our lives during COVID but using them in a campaign like this allows us to deliver powerful stories to people in a simple way,” said Ms. Jennings.

“These are patient stories that highlight the important work the hospital does. Stories like Nicola Stark’s who after more than 10 rounds of IVF had a high-risk pregnancy that involved bed-rest and constant monitoring, and the early arrival of daughter Elly at 27 weeks through to life-saving care in our NICU. Our art series features personal journeys that span breast cancer, genetics, triplets, premature birth, and fertility preservation.

“We see this as a fun and unique way to support the hospital and share the extraordinary way it saves and changes lives.”

Each year 10,000 women are treated at the hospital and more than 4,000 babies are born.

“Significant funds raised through the Foundation enabled the Fertility & Research Centre to be established, specialised medical equipment to be funded throughout the hospital, new models of care and outreach programs developed, and has brought research to life.

Last year was the busiest on record for the hospital, and the demand for specialised services is growing.

This year’s The Heart for Her Appeal aims to raise enough money to purchase an all-in-one resuscitation bed for babies, a new humidicrib for surgery in the NICU, fund new research programs and provide greater domestic violence support for vulnerable women.”

The campaign runs for June. The QR code artworks will go on display from June 1 to coincide with the official launch of Heart for Her and be on display in various locations throughout June.

Ambassadors supporting Heart for Her include Carla Oates (The Beauty Chef founder), Sydney Swans, Jana Pittman (Royal Obstetrician and mum of six), Holly Wainwright (Mamamia Head of Content), Rachel St James (wellness advocate), Ada Nicademou and Amber Laidler (7 News presenter and new mum).
