The Smooth Festival of Chocolate returns

Nova Entertainment has announced the return of the Smooth Festival of Chocolate for the fifth year.

The announcement:

NOVA Entertainment announced the popular smooth Festival of Chocolate will be returning to Sydney in 2018 for the fifth consecutive year, in a brand-new location on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd September.

The smooth Festival of Chocolate will relocate to the Sydney Showground in Sydney Olympic Park, an award-winning venue and major events destination, to provide commercial, logistical and accessibility benefits for both festival attendees and exhibitors.

Over the past four years, the smooth Festival of Chocolate has grown in popularity with 100 stallholders and over 140,000 visitors to The Rocks last year. This year the festival’s new home in the heart of the geographic centre of Sydney, will offer attendees, partners and exhibitors all weather access, new attractions for families and the young at heart and accessibility by all transport modes, to enhance the festival and provide greater access to all stalls and chocolate and entertainment experiences.

This year the smooth Festival of Chocolate will be a ticketed event which will include a charity donation to OzHarvest, access to all exhibitors, grandstand seating at the Callebaut Test Kitchen, free rides on The Charlie & The Chocolate Factory Ferris Wheel, access to the smooth Relaxation Station, the smooth stage, the Callebaut Royal Agricultural Chocolate judging and the smooth Kids zone with special entertainment for the whole family.

Tony Thomas, NOVA Entertainment’s Chief Marketing & Digital Officer said, The smooth Festival of Chocolate is a great example of smoothfm’s extension onto an experiential platform and provides a unique brand experience for attendees and our partners. With the growing success of the festival and the smoothfm brand, we continue to look at ways to evolve and develop the experience and this change of location will provide a better experience for attendees and greater opportunities for stallholders and partners.”

Families and chocolate lovers will experience a weekend of decadence with live cooking demonstrations, family entertainment, along with mouth-watering stalls, offering gourmet goodies to satisfy sweet-tooths and savoury fans alike.

New to the festival this year, attendees will have the opportunity to learn how to pair their favourite wine with desserts from Wine Selectors experts, witness the judging of incredible chocolate creations at The Callebaut Sydney Chocolate Show, unwind in The Hope Estate Garden Bar and with a greater focus on families this year, “smooth Kids” will allow kids to get into the kitchen with Baked by Andres and N2 Gelato.

With more stalls than ever before, the smooth Festival of Chocolate will welcome back festival favourites, Blackstar Pastry, Knafeh Bakery and Pimp My Chimney, along with newcomers, The Chocolate Workshop, G6 Shakes and Peanut Butter Bar.

Callebaut will return to present the Callebaut Test Kitchen featuring live demonstrations from the country’s best dessert chefs including Australia’s Queen of Chocolate Kirsten Tibballs.

Also returning will be the hugely popular Chocolatiers Quarters, featuring boutique chocolatiers and sweet makers, wine sampling at The Cellarmasters Cellar Door, the smooth Relaxation Station, and the ever-popular smooth stage which gives fans the chance to meet the smoothfm on-air talent.

For every ticket sold to this year’s festival, two meals will be donated to Australia’s leading food rescue charity, OzHarvest.

OzHarvest Corporate & Community Manager, Lisa Dainty said, “OzHarvest is thrilled to be part of the smooth Festival of Chocolate. Thanks to their support we will be able to deliver even more meals to vulnerable Australians and help nourish our country.”
