The Voice takes 2.2m for first part of final

the voice logoThe first part of Nine’s two-episode final of The Voice averaged 2.22m viewers for Nine on Sunday night, eclipsing the final of Dancing With The Stars on Seven, which rated 1.248m – down nearly 200,000 on last year.

The Voice – which concludes tonight – peaked at 2.794m according to overnight metro ratings from OzTam.

Nine’s The Block also preformed strongly, delivering 1.89m viewers.   

Across the demographics, The Voice remained on top, taking 1.246m in 25-54, 1.17m in 18-49 and 734,000 in 16-39 as The Block was firmly second with 1.068m in 25-54, 1.028m in 18-49 and 654,000 in 16-39.

Despite coming fifth overall, Dancing with the Stars slipped to take 384,000 in the 25-54 to place seventh, 298,000 in 18-49 to place ninth and 166,000 in 16-39 to place 10th.

Masterchef on the other hand rose in the demos, placing third in 16-39 with 429,000, and fourth in both 18-49 and 25-54 with 589,000 and 605,000 respectively.

Nine News Sunday placing third for the night overall with 1.536m viewers followed by Seven News in fourth on 1.472m.

Masterchef was Ten’s highest rating show, with 973,000 viewers.

Tricky Business, which aired after The Voice on Nine, averaged 691,000 viewers.

ABC News was the ABC’s highest rating show on 850,000.

Weekend Sunrise beat Weekend Today 337,000 to 292,000.
