‘The Voice of Qld not Murdoch’: Solstice Media title InQueensland targets News Corp in TV campaign

Publisher Solstice Media has got News Corp firmly in its sights with a new campaign running across free to air and social media in Queensland.

The TVC for InQueensland, a digital news title, features slogans like ‘The Voice of Qld, not Murdoch’, specifically targeting News Corp Australia’s Courier Mail.

The TVC will run on Seven, Nine, Ten and across social media. It calls for readers to look at InQueensland in the lead up to the election for ‘balanced reporting’ and features a call to action for InQueensland email alerts.

Publisher, Peter Atkinson, said the election period was a perfect local landscape to offer Queensland readers what they have been crying out for.

“Our campaign tells readers looking for an alternative that there is still quality, unbiased and independent journalism available in Queensland – without agendas and without a paywall,” he said

InQueensland launched in February under independent publisher Solstice Media. Solstice publishes other titles including InDaily and SA Life. InQueensland reports a subscriber base of over 25,000 and includes writers like Denis Atkins, Madonna King and Sean Parnell.

The TVC and social media campaign was created by Queensland agency Engine Group. Mumbrella has approached News Corp for comment.
