Nine’s The Voice wins the night despite week-on-week audience decline

the voice judgesNine’s The Voice shed 143,000 metro viewers on last week’s audience, posting a metro audience of 1.278m.

The show, which aired from 7:30pm to to 9:00pm, still won the night, easily out-rating its reality rivals House Rules and Masterchef.

Ten’s cooking reality series grabbed 893,000 metro viewers, modestly up on last week’s audience low of 850,000.

Seven’s House Rules was watched by 730,000, down slightly on last week’s audience of 765,000.

Masterchef was the most watched program amongst 16-39 year old viewers and The Voice was the popular choice amongst 18-49 and 25-54 year olds.

Nine won the evening with an audience share of 22.5%, ahead of Seven’s share of 17.4% with Ten claiming third place with a share of 15.1%. The ABC achieved a share of 14.4%.

Later in the evening, Ten’s Have You Been Paying Attention?, which aired from 8:40pm, drew a metro audience of 687,000 while Nine’s Soundbreaking, airing from just after 9:00pm, was watched by 540,000.

In the news stakes, Seven News at 6:00pm pulled in 1.165m, sliding to 1.073m from 6:30pm, while Nine News at 6:00pm grabbed 1.113m, dipping to 1.042m from 6:30pm.

On the ABC, 7.30 had an audience of 706,000, Four Corners (8:30pm) drew 729,000 and Media Watch (9:20pm) was watched by 687,000.

On pay TV, Game of Thrones was watched by 355,000 national viewers at 11:00am with 275,000 national viewers watching the replayed broadcast of the drama series at 7:30pm.
