The Works and Daresay offer services to crisis-affected small businesses as Van Jams hits the road
Creative agency The Works and content marketing agency Daresay have banded together to offer their services to small businesses impacted by COVID-19 and the Australian bushfire crisis.
Dubbed ‘Van Jams’, members of the two agencies will be travelling around New South Wales in The Works’ VW Combi van to provide free consultations and practical digital and social media marketing and branding.
Van Jams first appeared 18 years ago when The Works founders would set up shop in the front of a client’s building and spend the day coming up with brand strategy and creative ideas in response to a brief.
Damian Pincus, founder and creative partner at The Works said Van Jams is how the agency was started.
“We started the agency almost two decades ago by driving our van to the doorsteps of businesses to solve their marketing problems,” Pincus said.
“After seeing the devastating effect COVID and the fires has had on many small businesses we wanted to do something to support their recovery and what better way to do it than get back in our van and bring our teams’ expertise direct to where they work.”
The Works and Daresay will also offer follow-up services through a ‘Sponsor a SMB’ program that will connect the participating businesses with marketing specialists from both agencies.
Ruth Haffenden, managing partner of Daresay, said: “We’re encouraging small businesses to book an appointment online in advance and come prepared to talk through their challenges in exchange for straight-forward marketing advice they can implement to help them get back on their feet. Meanwhile we hope the experience on the road and the primary research underway will enable us to get an unparalleled understanding of the small business audience and how they can best be supported moving forwards.”
The Works and Daresay are also launching a qualitative and quantitative research project into how consumer sentiments and the decision making process have changed as a result of both crises.
