‘There’s a Giant in all of us’ campaign extended to the AFLW leading up to grand final

AFL team Greater Western Sydney Giants has extended its ‘There’s a Giant in all of us’ brand push to the AFLW, creating two new female-lead GWS content pieces.

Amanda Farrugia says: “Sport is one of the best ways that somebody can express themselves individually”

In collaboration with independent creative agency Richard Rose the two three-minute content pieces feature GWS team members Jess Bibby (also an ex Opal basketball player) and Amanda Farrugia, talking about their journeys to success.

After being signed to the Australian Opals in her 20s and having an experimental spinal surgery so she could walk again, Jess Bibby’s ‘There’s a Giant in’ content piece shares her road to recovery and success with the GWS Giants.

“I might be a bit older and it may be a new code, but my attitude to competing hasn’t changed one bit. I love the day-to-day process of trying to be the best that you can be to prepare yourself to be ready to compete on an elite level.”

School teacher Farrugia’s ‘There’s a Giant in’ feature video unpacks her motivation to inspire impressionable women, career as a teacher and how she discovered her path to success in football.

In the video Farrugia says: “There is nothing that you could ever want to do, that you can’t do, because of the gender that you were born with. Finally there is a time for all girls to be just as equal as all boys”.

With the AFLW finals approaching the Giants currently sit seventh on the ladder. The videos are being rolled out online and played for the GWS women before their last games.

The ‘There’s a Giant in all of us’ national campaign is set to roll out spotlight videos for the Giants netball team and the AFL men’s teams in the coming weeks – similar to the ones released when the campaign launched last year.
