Thinkerbell appointed by Business Council of Australia to ensure businesses are ‘Good to Go’ as lockdowns lift

The Business Council of Australia (BCA) has appointed Thinkerbell to execute its ‘Good to Go’ campaign as state governments begin to unwind COVID-19 restrictions.

The campaign’s purpose is to ensure businesses are taking the necessary steps to keep their employees, customers and suppliers safe – i.e. that they’re ‘good to go’ – as lockdowns lift and more businesses can edge towards normal trading. The three steps promoted by the campaign are: keep your distance, keep hygienic, and keep the government’s COVID Safe app on.

“We believe in the collective power of business and industry working alongside government to get to a better outcome,” Thinkerbell CEO Margie Reid said of the campaign.

“We are aiming for Australian business to adopt a single minded, uniform message to help fight COVID-19. It’s been fantastic working with the BCA to help make this happen.”

BCA chief executive Jennifer Westacott explained that the campaign acts as a “coordinated voice” to support the guidance of governments, workplaces and Safe Work Australia.

“It is now up to each of us as individuals – either as customers, employers, employees or suppliers – to play our part, and that means following those three simple steps.’’

“By doing this, we can have confidence that it is safe to go back to work, go to the shops and get the country moving again.

“We are uniting behind the Good to Go campaign because it is an easy way for Australians to join in the safe reopening of the economy. This will allow business to get back to work and create the extra jobs we need to drive a strong recovery.”

Westacott added that campaign success will mean businesses continue to protect workers, customers and suppliers as they begin to reopen, or ease restrictions.

“We are encouraging all employers to join the Good to Go campaign, not just Business Council members, and share these important messages with their teams,” she explained.

“People can have confidence that business is putting in place detailed COVIDSafe return to plans across their industries. This means we can continue to operate safely and get more people back to work as quickly as possible. The Good to Go campaign is an important part of this.

“Everyone has pulled together to contain COVID-19 and we’ll need the same focus, co-operation and determination to set ourselves up for a strong and safe recovery as restrictions ease.”

Thinkerbell consumer psychologist, Adam Ferrier, added that the message is, and had to be, simple.

“We wanted to find a way to make it really simple for Australians to know what to do,” Ferrier explained.

“We want to get all businesses to use the one look and feel, and the one message as restrictions are slowly and carefully reduced. So Australia if you keep your distance, keep hygienic, and keep the app on then you’ll be good to go sooner.”
