Thrive appoints Chris Jones to lead new sports division

Thrive PR has hired sports journalist Chris Jones to head up its new sports division.

The anouncement:

Following a long love affair with sport and with extensive experience in sports communications having represented clients including Nike, the MCG, TAG Heuer, Tennis Australia and Melbourne Racing Club, Thrive has formally launched its Sports PR Division.

Headed by working sports journo and passionate PR practitioner, Chris Jones, the division has made an impressive impact on the industry since its inception.

Already the Thrive Sports PR Team has solidified its relationship with existing client Callaway Golf (and in the process thrown AFL Coach Brad Scott from a plane at 10,000 feet) while adding Cricket Australia and Longines to the fold.

“If a client wants straight sport communications, we can deliver. If the client wants lifestyle and news with a sports spin, we can deliver. And whether it is a youth or family audience, we know how to engage” says Jonesy. “With offices in Sydney and Melbourne we have the resources to take on both big and small client needs.”

The division delivers strategic media relations counsel and execution, event management, sponsorship leveraging and issues management. The division extends Thrive’s presence in Australia and New Zealand and compliments the company’s experience across other business sectors including health, retail, FMCG and entertainment.
