Ticker TV launches breakfast programming with Benjamin Norris and Alana McLean

Ahron Young’s Ticker TV is launching new breakfast programming, hosted by Benjamin Norris and Alana McLean.

The announcement:

Ticker is inviting Australians to jump on board our brand new brekky show.

Ticker Jumpstart, hosted by Benjamin Norris and Alana McLean, promises to challenge the status quo of breakfast television. The show is proudly focused on entrepreneurs and young professionals, delivering the news they need to see (with a sprinkle of star power), and bold opinions they might not want to hear!

The program is unashamedly pop – you’ll catch the hosts talking about the big TV events from the night before and interviewing the stars.

Ben came to national attention as the winner of Big Brother in 2012. He made TV history, using the moment to propose to his long term partner in front of a TV audience of 1.8 million people. He has since appeared on every TV network and worked across multiple radio networks

Ben Norris says:
“ I think Morning TV needs a facelift and for that reason we have something in common. All jokes aside – there is huge space for fresh, authentic voices with real opinions about the news.”

“The second I met Alana I knew I wanted to have a drink with her – and what better time of the day than 7am!“ Ben says.

Alana McLean is an ACRA award winner and has extensive broadcasting experience across the country. This year Alana has been hosting Ticker Newsroom.

Alana McLean says:
“Ticker is a brand new era in TV. We do things differently. In morning coffee terms; we’re not your standard flat white – we are more like the turmeric latte!”

“We have both worked in radio – so we’ll be bringing that style of candidness and quirkiness to your morning news hit,” Alana says.

Ahron Young will provide breaking news throughout the show, with crosses to Ticker Sport anchors David Davutovic (former Herald Sun) and Adrian Franklin (former Fox Sports News) and a host of regular and guest contributors.

Ticker CEO Ahron Young says:
“I know we can do brekky better. In the era of blaming millennials for our avocado toast – We raise a glass to the generation before us but it’s time to do TV our way. At Ticker, we thrive on doing things differently.”

“Both Ben and Alana are exactly the Ticker audience. This is a show for people who live closer to the city, who wake up, turn on their Apple TVs while they get ready, take PT to work with their device in their hands.”

“We won’t be offering you a free house in the suburbs or a block of cash. Though I will keep answering the phone with I Wake Up With Today, just in case.” Ahron says.

Ticker Jumpstart is part of a new suite of programs starting soon on Ticker.

The show runs Monday to Friday 7-9am and commences June 1.

Ticker began broadcasting in August last year as Australia’s first dedicated streaming news network. It has since grown into a 24 hour network with 9 hours of live content a day, with on demand programming available via the Ticker apps – on iOS, Apple TV, Android TV and mobile, as well as via social media channels and Amazon Alexa and Google Home devices.

Ticker produces over 50 hours of content a week, including news and programs focusing on topics including property, social media, streaming, tech, workplace, and sport.
