TikTok Australia partners with Melanoma Institute Australia to bring sun safety campaign

TikTok Australia and Melanoma Institute Australia have partnered for its ‘Tanning. That’s Cooked’ campaign, all about sun safety.

The announcement:

TikTok Australia has teamed up with Melanoma Institute Australia on a campaign that aims to throw shade at tanning in the name of raising awareness for one of Australia’s deadliest skin cancers, melanoma.

Kicking off December 1st and running throughout the month, the ‘Tanning. That’s Cooked’ campaign will see popular Aussie TikTok creators create content that calls out the behaviour of tanning among Australians in a bid to raise awareness among 20-39 year olds.

The creative idea was the brainchild of global ad agency TBWA and will form part of the TikTok For Good initiative which helps charities, not-for-profits and NGOs share their messages on TikTok while inspiring and encouraging a new generation to have a positive impact on the planet and those around them.

To double down on their efforts to prevent skin cancer, TikTok will permanently ban the #sunburnchallenge hashtag and will attach the link to the Melanoma Institute Australia to #tanning.
