TikTok’s global head of marketing Nick Tran exits

The New York Post reports that Nick Tran, TikTok‘s former global head of marketing, left the company after “blindside[ing]” management with “increasingly bizarre campaigns”.

According to the report, Tran’s was opening a TikTok Kitchen featuring food made on the social media platform.

The report stated that TikTok planned to open 1,000 ghost kitchens by the end of 2022. Tran intended to deliver the dishes through Virtual Dining Concept, according to the report.

Tran also tried to develop a “creator-led NFT collection” with Bella Poarch and Lil Nas X, the report said.

The report said, during a call with the company’s marketing team in early January, a senior executive said that campaigns were not in line with the company’s goals.

Vanessa Pappas will serve as Tran’s replacement until the company finds a replacement, the NY Post said.

Tran was previously Hulu’s vice president of brand and culture marketing. Before that, he worked for Samsung and Taco Bell.
