Entertainment, food and lifestyle title Time Out has launched into a second city, with a Melbourne website to accompany its Sydney website, monthly magazine and iPhone app.
The launch of the Time Out Melbourne site preceeds a rollout into Australia’s other capital cities, with Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide to follow.
The site – currently in beta – includes daily updates, event listings and venue reviews. It is accompanied by a weekly newsletter. Julian Peterson, Time Out’s marketing & online director, said: “There are a mass of new features to go live over the coming months.”
Time Out launched in Sydney, initially as a weekly magazine published by independent venture Print and Digital Publishing. It later switched frequency from fortnightly and eventually to monthly. Intermedia took a majority stake last year.

Peterson said: “There has been a very positive reaction from advertisers as Time Out move beyond Sydney to national coverage.”
