Todd Sampson rules himself out of Recipe To Riches

ToddHigh profile agency boss Todd Sampson has confirmed he will not be replacing David “Nobby” Nobay on the Channel Ten show Recipe To Riches.

Yesterday Mumbrella revealed that Droga5′s creative partner had withdrawn from the program and would not be a judge on the renewed season of Recipe To Riches.

The move came just a week after Woolworths’ surprise announcement it was shifting its main creative account duties from Droga5 to Leo Burnett and led to industry speculation that Nobay would be replaced by the CEO of Leo Burnett Sampson.

A spokeswoman for Sampson, who is a regular panelist on the popular ABC Gruen series, told Mumbrella: “Todd will not be on Recipe to Riches.”

The withdrawal of Nobay and Sampson’s decision not to participate leaves the question open of who Ten will replace him with. A Ten spokesman yesterday confirmed that they were pulling together the panel but did not comment on possible candidates.

“We are finalising the panel of experts for the second season of Recipe To Riches,” said the spokesman.

Last season’s panel of judges included Carolyn Creswell, owner of Carman’s Fine Foods and chef Darren Robertson.

Sampson has become a well-known face on Australian TV in recent years as one of the team captains alongside Ten’s general manager Russel Howcroft on the Gruen series.

Last year he also filmed a three-part documentary series on the science of brain plasticity ‘Redesign My Brain with Todd Sampson’, which has just been bought by Discovery America and Discovery International. He is also a regular panellist on Channel Ten’s The Project.
