Tonic Health Media Runs Agency Meditation Campaign to Tackle High Stress Levels

‘Stillness Sessions’ are part of its Healthy Living Program

Tonic Health Media, Australia’s leading health and wellbeing network, is running a campaign to help combat high stress levels and boost mental health within media agencies across the country.

58% of media agency staff surveyed by Tonic identified that they are concerned about stress and 48% of respondents also identified anxiety and depression as major concerns.

In response, Tonic is running free introduction to meditation sessions at media agencies in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane with meditation teacher and founder of the Stillness Project, Tom Cronin.

The sessions include advice on how to integrate meditation into living a healthy and de-stressed life, finishing with a guided meditation session.

The Stillness Session reinforces Tonic’s commitment to health and wellness within the media and advertising industries, following on from the successful agency Yoga program ‘Tonic Flow’ and healthy eating initiative ‘Tonic Agency Cook Off’.

Tonic Health Media Commercial Director, Jack Mortlock, said: “High stress levels and burnout are particularly prevalent in the media industry, which has a reputation for being an extremely demanding work environment. These Stillness Sessions are designed to help us address these issues and give media agency staff the tools to cope in these situations.”

“Tom is the perfect person to deliver these sessions as part of our Healthy Living Program, given his meditation expertise and the 26 years he spent in the high-pressure finance industry.”

Tonic expects up to 800 media agency staff to participate in the sessions from over 35 agencies.

The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive with many people saying they will put their new meditation skills to good use.

“Loved learning ideas on how to manage your bodies reaction to the stressful world we live in.”

“Relaxing moment out of the day to focus on something that I can implement right away to help bring down stress levels”.

Tonic is including meditation videos on its media agency community Facebook page to offer ongoing support. To join the dedicated Facebook page contact marketing@tonichealthmedia.com.au.

Tonic Health Media is also a key supporter of the first major Australian study into the mental health and wellbeing of the media, advertising and creative industries – “Mentally Healthy 2018” which has just been launched, and encourages staff in these sectors to participate.

Australia’s Out of Home Network, Tonic Health Media reaches an audience of 15 million plus Australians every month across 5300 GP, pharmacy and hospital waiting areas, as well as online via mydr.com.au.
