It’s always a sad day to Dr Mumbo when Daily Telegraph writer Joe Hildebrand doesn’t have an opportunity to explode out of the nation’s plasma screens, so he was sorry to read the following today:
“Shortly after 10am yestersday Sky News asked me to comment on the Penrith by-election Twitter debate…. I said I would be happy to but in the two minutes it took to that message to get back to them they found someone else.”
Happily, Dr Mumbo can confirm that by last night, Hildebrand was returned to his rightful place, opining on Sky News’ Paul Murray Live show.
And the Twitter the debate was every bit as inane as one would expect from a 140-character service designed for a completely different purpose:
I am told that when it emerged I was the last remaining option they redoubled their search efforts.
