Top Gear Australia second series to debut next Tuesday
Nine has announced the second series of Top Gear Australia will premiere next Tuesday at 8:30.
Joining hosts actor Shane Jacobson, Top Gear magazine editor-in-chief Ewen Page and racing driver Steven Pizzati on the debut episode will be Hamish & Andy’s Andy Lee.
Also billed for the show, announced by Nine: “In a controversial new segment Ewen will debate why he believes freeway speed limits should be increased, while in another new segment, V8 to the Rescue, the boys rev up a V8-powered fast-bowling machine that will no doubt help Australia win back the Ashes against England.”
Last year’s debut audience pulled 1.21 million viewers but fell below 1 million in the following weeks.
The show moved along with its British counterpart to Nine from SBS early last year.
Some freeway speeds should be increased. not all are good enough surfaces

The problem with the Aussie version is the presenters are weak and unlikeable. I guess that’s why Nine keeps wheeling in “Hamish and Andys” to make it remotely entertaining.
