TorchMedia retains Queensland rail contract

TorchMedia has retained its Queensland Rail advertising contract.

It comes three weeks after the out-of-home company confirmed it had retained its portion of the Metro Trains Melbourne contract.

The new contract will give TorchMedia the advertising rights to Queensland Rail’s external rail advertising for another five years.

TorchMedia has had the contract – which spans across south-east Queensland from Brisbane to the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Ipswich – since 2012. The initial contract was a first for Queensland, which had not previously displayed advertising on the exterior of its trains.

Kirsty Dollisson, managing director at TorchMedia, said the renewal was a testament to the hard work of the Torch team.

“Our speed to market has been a key point of difference enabling brands to utilise the medium responsively without having to factor in long lead times,” Dollisson said.

“Renewing the contract is a testament to how hard the Torch team has worked not just on the tender process, but on making Rail Advertising viable for both our clients and commercial partners.
