Tourism Fiji awards PR and influencer account to Havas Red
Havas Red has emerged victorious from the competitive pitch for Tourism Fiji’s PR and influencer account across Australia.
The win brings multiple functions into the Havas Village with Havas Host holding the creative account, and Havas Media being the media agency of record.
Shane Russell, Havas Red CEO, told Mumbrella having all the agencies working together for the brand will help Fiji’s story come together across multiple channels.
“While it’s an advantage for Tourism Fiji to bring its agency village together under one roof, Havas Red leaned on its deep expertise in the travel and culture sectors to deliver a response that nailed the brief at hand,” he said.
“Going forward, we can leverage the deep brand knowledge and creative strategy built in partnership between Tourism Fiji, Havas Host and Havas Media. Working together, Fiji’s story will come together in a seamless way across the full spectrum of channels and capabilities, from PR and influencer to production and advertising, media and measurement, and larger brand platform campaigns.”
Havas Red’s remit will include creative PR campaigns, media relations, influencer marketing and brand partnerships. The agency’s work will feed into Fiji’s brand platform ‘Where happiness comes naturally’.
Tourism Fiji’s CMO Brent Hill, who is finishing up in the role this month, said: “Havas Red showed a thoughtful and creative approach to our challenges, which unearthed unexpected stories, and reasons, for Australians to choose Fiji as their next or return travel destination. Their ideas were designed to cut through in culture and the evolving media environment.
“The team at Havas Red have proven capability in helping tourism brands land ideas that truly represent their unique brand positioning, and we’re excited to build those ideas together and continue to show a different side to Fiji.”
Havas Red’s Russell, said in a statement that the agency was proud to be appointed to a destination so loved by Australians. Havas Red’s announcement noted that Australian travellers account for almost 50% of all visitor arrivals in Fiji.
“Fiji holds a special place in the hearts of millions of Aussies, with people of all ages experiencing the happiness that comes so naturally to Fijians. It’s an exciting opportunity to help Fiji extend its brand to reach more travellers, and to retain its share of voice in an increasingly competitive travel and tourism market,” Russell said.
Tourism Fiji’s GoPro Creator Summit won last year’s Best Use of Native or Content Marketing at the Mumbrella Travel Marketing Awards. Havas Red, meanwhile, won PR Idea of the Year for its work on the Odd Jobs campaign with Tourism Tasmania.
This year, Havas Red is nominated for Best Celebrity or Influencer Campaign, and Best Use of Data, for its client Booking.com, as well as the overall PR Agency of the Year gong.
This year’s Travel Marketing Summit and Awards will take place on 28 August.
